Hello! My name is Cassandra Ziemer! Most people call me Cas.
My pronouns are they/them. If that’s not something you’re comfortable with, then I am not comfortable with you. If you are unsure how to navigate that, please ask me. I am usually happy to talk about it.
My partner, Erin Zoretich, and I are long-time brainstormers, writers, story-makers, and co-conspirators of artistic projects personal and social.
Erin is a dreamer who has been telling stories since she and her younger sibling were making Lego mini-figures into personalities when they were young.
Cas is a craftsperson who has been making things since they were tall enough to open the arts and crafts drawer.
Since they met in 2021, Cas has been opening up Pandora’s boxes and Erin has been dealing with the contents. Erin makes spontaneous off-hand comments and Cas continues them with “and what about…?”. We take turns running through rose bushes while the other prepares the band-aids. Cas gets us there and Erin brings us home. Erin asks “what?” and Cas asks “how?”. We are a partnership in more ways than making creative arts or building a life together.
To use a ship metaphor, Cassandra is the captain, the quartermaster, the salt, and the anchor while Erin is the navigator, the chef, the water, and the sails.
